Merchant Square was developed as a new and exciting Square in Paddington. The purpose was to create a vibrant square to live, work and relax. It also features award winning architecture.

Able were contracted to design and install a TV and data system for the new Building D development. Able Data built a single IRS to cover the entire site, providing Sky & Hotbird satellite and Terrestrial TV services to all 200 apartments.

A key part of the design was the use of a fibre backbone to carry satellite signals to different part of the complex. As well as ensuring good quality signals this will allow additional satellite services to be added as required with the minimum of cost and disruption.

Each apartment was also fitted with its own structured cabling system, to allow networking of PC’s, telephones and other services. Able also installed a door-entry system, allowing visitors to alert residents through their telephones and to be seen through their TV’s.
