In 2018, Universal Music relocated their UK head quarters from Kensington to the new creative hub in London, Kings Cross.

Able were awarded the prestigious project to move 1,000 of Universal’s
employees into the entire office space at 4 Pancras Square. Totalling 177,000 square ft over 10 floors, the impressive building features a restaurant, roof-top garden and high-quality office space.

Able installed a CommScope SYSTIMAX structured cabling system. The project included the installation of:

• 12,000 Cat6a data outlets.
• 5,000 Cat6a Comms Room links
• 70 Racks in 11 Comms Rooms
• 200 AV Fibre Outlets

The project also required the provision of a large number of Broadcast MTP fibre outlets to facilitate production broadcasting from various points in the building.

The hardest challenge was meeting the tight timescales, which required simultaneous cabling of multiple floors. The project was completed over four months.
